York offers the finest blend of high quality sporting action, complemented by outstanding facilities – including the modern £20 million Ebor Stand, which opened in May 2003. York stages 15 days of top drawer Flat racing each year, including the Ebor Festival which takes place over four days for the first time in August.

The only dress code is for the County Stand however people do dress up in the Grandstand & Paddock for the May Meeting and Ebor in August.

County Stand

The Gimcrack Restaurant is a traditional restaurant serving 3 course lunch and afternoon tea. There’s a table d’hôte menu for around £22.50 per person, 12 noon ‘til 2.30pm. Alcoves has a cosy atmosphere with a selection of cheeses, pâtés and lighter bites. The relaxed piazza style of the Ebor Bistro on the ground floor eatery was a great success in its first year and offers the chance to enjoy a coffee with a cake or perhaps a reviving bowl of chilli (£4.95), without needing to leave the Ebor Stand or miss out on a race as giant screens are at hand. The Eclipse Restaurant is located on the fifth floor of the Ebor Stand, offering a reserved table, 3 course meal with wine for around £42.50.
The Princess Mary Seafood Bar has become a popular retreat for a bowl of sustaining seafood chowder.
- Viewing:Â
In the new Ebor Stand and the traditional steppings to the side of it you cannot get better views of the racing. The Club badge provides access to all the course facilities. There are lawns and terraces to view from as well as the balconies and restaurants.
- Dress:Â
Racegoers like to make coming to York a special occasion and dress accordingly. Gentlemen must wear a jacket and tie and many ladies choose to wear a hat although it is not obligatory.
Grandstand & Paddock

Knavesmire: A ‘self-service’ style café offering a wide menu choice at attractive prices. A range of tasty snacks to take away is available including a cheeseburger (£2.70) and ham sandwich (£1.80).Â
Viewing:Â
The Knavesmire stand offers views of the racing and access to the Paddock and lawns.
- Dress:Â
There is no dress code but for the May and Ebor Meetings generally people dress up. Racegoers are required to dress decently.

There are a variety of bars and takeaway facilities to catch a bite to eat from.
- Viewing:Â
Although the most informal area the views of the finish from the centre of the course are still good and many racegoers also watch on the giant screens. There is no stand nor any access to the Parade Ring or Winner’s Enclosure.

£3 discount on advance bookings for single day County Enclosure badges on 19-22 August if booked by 6 August.

- Annual Membership
This includes all race days at York as well as reciprocal days across the country. Cost: Full Single County Stand Annual Badgeholders £305. There is a three year waiting list.

Children aged 16 and under can enter for free when accompanied by an adult.

There are Tote and bookmaker facilities in all areas with a full betting shop available to County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock Customers.

There is plenty of free car parking.

York operates to the equality of access standard and so has a range of facilities for the disabled, contact the course for further details.
